Why did I get banned?

These are BUR servers and we will make and enforce the rules that our membership finds necessary. Our rules are pretty simple and meant to make the game fun and fair for everybody.

If you've been banned from our servers, there is a reason for it. Here is a list of possible reasons your were banned. Remember to pay attention to the console messages. That is where we communicate with and warn players.

There are two types of bans that we do.
DAY BAN - 24 hour ban from all BUR servers
PERMANENT BAN - Just what it says, permanent ban from all BUR servers

1. SPAMMING - We don't allow spamming the console with voice messages. It's incredibly irritating and completely unnecessary. If you continue to spam after being warned, you will be day-banned (24 hour ban from all servers). If you continue to spam when you return from your day ban, you may be permanently banned.

2. SWEARING / CURSING / FOUL LANGUAGE - We do not allow foul language to be used on our servers. If you swear, you will be warned. If you continue to do so after the warning, you may be day-banned. If you just can't control your language ever, you will be banned permanently.

3. CLIPPING / GLITCHING - We do not allow clipping. Clipping is making use of game glitches that allow you to shoot through corners and walls rather than over them. It is hard to tell that you are doing so sometimes, so pay attention to the console warnings. If you see a DO NOT CLIP warning, move back from your position against a wall or window. If you continue to clip after the warning, you may be day banned. If you are a persistent clipper, you may be permanently banned.

4. SCREEN SHOTS - We take screen shots all of the time. We take screen shots of our own members at least monthly. If you are playing clean, you have nothing to worry about. While, BUR members are required to play with nothing that is not part of the original game installation, non-members do not have that same restriction. However, cheats (no-recoil, auto-aimmers, glow skins, no fog, opengl, etc.) are absolutely forbidden on these servers.

If you are screen shot, follow the on-screen instructions, open your console window all the way and stay in spectate until the game says it is alright to return to play. The process takes about 2 minutes.

If you leave specate before the process is finished, you may be day-banned. If on multiple occasions you leave before the process is finished, you will be permanently banned. If you do not send your screen shots immediately, you will be banned until you do.

5. RECRUITING - We do not allow recruiting on our servers. What clan does? You will be day-banned if you ignore the warning and permanently banned if you continue.

6. TRASH-TALKING BUR - These are our servers. If you don't like what we do or how we do it, go somewhere else. If you feel the need to trash-talk the clan or its members, you'll be banned. Pretty simple.

7. GENERAL NUISANCE - There are a few players that just don't like to be told what is appropriate behavior or don't like to be moved to even up teams. This behavior may also get you banned.

8. CHEATING - Some players just don't like to play fair at all. Their game is so weak they have to use any number of the available game hacks to play competitively. We ban these players permanently.
