I was going to purchase a LINUX package, and install it for clan use/practice at first... I am a very techy guy... understand computers and their components well... however, only in the Microsoft O/S world.... Issues: One, I wanted to get SUSE 10.1 for the server OS... is there a better alternative for a Linux server suite?.. Two, I don't know how to setup the MOHAA server, but would welcome and appreciate recommendations/help on getting this server up.... This would be my passtime... and something I think I'd have fun doing... We would welcome this as a test server for anyone creating or editing maps in the future... Let me know if you can help Thanks, Bacon & Bits & Bits & Bits ________________ Mmmm... Bacon...

It is based on Unix, like Linux but it is not the same, so I don't know if a Linux MOHAA dedicated server would work on it. You don't have to pay for a Linux package. In fact, you can download some distributions (see distrowatch.com for distributions ranking) for free. I would recommand you Ubuntu because of it's great community if you need help. There is also Debian (well known for it's stability and it's difficulty to install) and OpenSUSE (for it's simplicity). There is maybe also Red-Hat or Fedora (Red-Hat is very popular for business servers so I think it must be reliable and stable). So select the kind of Linux distributions you want (there are approx. 358 distributions to choose from, good luck) PS: Sorry for my bad English, I'm French so... ------------------------------------------------- MOHAA 4 Ever ! Linux serving only takes a fraction of the computer muscle that a Microsoft based server would take-- especially with COD servers. i'm not sure what kind of patches (like Mefy) that the "Bur-Clan" uses, but it's really nice "secret sauce." it's all about the config file. Good Luck! Kilgore!!!!
